GAZPROM Is Making Up Choice on Vehicle Supplier
Last week in Ekaterinburg there took place a special exhibition organized by GAZPROM. There were exhibited only those vehicles that have been assembled on truck chassis manufactured by KAMAZ and UralAZ - the two leading companies of the Russian automobile industry.
The organizers of the exhibition indicated that the target of that exhibition was to help fleet operators to renovate their fleet and to supply them with new models. For several days, representatives of KAMAZ and UralAZ have been consulting visitors on technical characteristics of their vehicles and carrying out negotiations with potential customers.
KAMAZ Inc. has presented 45 models of various purpose vehicles, including sky-lifts on truck chassis, buses, and prime movers. Visitors were especially interested in models powered with a gas engine, such as: a suburban bus, a van, a service truck equipped with a welding machine for maintenance en route, and also a KAMAZ-54115 prime mover.
Danis Valeev, Chief Designer of KAMAZ Inc., said: “A long-term cooperation with GAZPROM enterprises made it possible for KAMAZ Inc. to design a new range of trucks, such as KAMAZ-65225 and KAMAZ-65226, which are quite popular at the exhibition here.
Nicholai Sydorenko, Head of the Transport Department of GAZPROM, indicated that GAZPROM would acquire new vehicles only upon results of the open tender. So, both KAMAZ and UralAZ should be ready for it.
