An innovative solution presented by IDGC of Volga, PJSC at the Rugrids-Electro International Energy Forum

One of key events in the Russian power sector — the annual Rugrids-Electro International Energy Forum — Grown Infrastructure. Optimization. Opportunities — took place in Moscow. The objective of this Forum is to establish an action-oriented communications venue to discuss and elaborate standards for intellectual solutions to support modernization of the national power grid system, sharing best practices of implementing technical and innovation policies.

As a member of Rosseti Group of Companies, IDGC of Volga, PJSC participates in the Forum actively and on a continuous basis". The Company presented its innovative solution — a device for detection of combustible gases emitted from gas-filled relays of power transformers developed as part of its R&D efforts. This device has a modular design and is based on state-of-the art hardware components allowing for replacement of gas-sensing elements. With this device, analysis of gas samples can be performed both from a gas-filled relay of a power transformer and flexible-shell sampling systems. This device can be operated under the temperature range from – 30°Ñup to + 50°Ñ.

As compared to the existing gas sampling devices, this device provides the following key benefits: operational efficiency, maintainability, safety and consistency of results of qualitative analysis of gases from gas-filled relays of power transformers during a field use, i.e. directly on power grid facilities.

IDGC of Volga, PJSC carries out systematic innovative R&D activities, with the implementation of R&D results into production activities. In 2015, at the Rugrids-Electro Forum, officials of the Department of Technological Development and Innovations presented an innovative solution developed in collaboration with NPP Bresler, LLC. A static dry-type arc-suppressing unit to eliminate single phase-to-earth faults in 6-10 kV networks, equipped with a quick-response system of automatic current compensation control arouse great public interest. Unlike existing continuously-varying arc-suppressing reactors offered by foreign manufacturers, this unit has a single-body and a single magnet core design.

During the Forum, representatives of IDGC of Volga, PJSC , as part of exhibition activities of Rosseti, PJSC, hold meetings with their peers from the power community, participate in business program, including discussions and interactive events.
