Tariffing issues, advantages of switchover to RAB and “last mile” solution mechanisms discussed today by General Director of IDGC of the North-West Sergey Titov and First Deputy Head of the Komi Republic Aleksey Chernov

According to the power industry specialists, switchover to RAB regulation will enable Komienergo branch of IDGC of the North-West to undertake accelerated modernization and technical upgrade of electric equipment, including through non-tariff-related funds attraction.
The meeting was participated in by Deputy General Director of IDGC of  the North-West – Director of Komienergo branch Ivan Medvedev, Deputy Branch Director for Economy and Finance Dmitry Tarasov, Chief of the Tariff Service of the Komi Republic Ilya Pervakov, Head of the Tariffing Department of IDGC of the North-West Valentin Chesnokov.
According to the power industry specialists, switchover to RAB regulation will enable Komienergo branch of IDGC of the North-West to undertake accelerated modernization and technical upgrade of electric equipment, including through non-tariff-related funds attraction. Investment growth will allow one to proceed with construction of “energy rings” and secondary circuits of power transmission lines. Thus, Komienergo will solve the problem of energy deficit in a number of districts of the republic. Additional financial injections will provide for the opportunity to reconstruct the transmission lines already in place to significantly increase capacities and enhance reliability (currently, the degree of grids wear within the region is as much as 60 %).
Following the conference outcome, arrangement was agreed of another meeting between management of IDGC of the North-West and the Government of the Komi Republic whereat a co-decision on the said issues will be elaborated.
