On September 16, 2009, JSC Engineering Center Russian Gas Centrifuge (affiliate of JSC Atomenergoprom) delivered the next (third) lot of gas centrifuges under the contract concluded in August 2008 between JSC Techsnabexport, a wholly owned subsidiary of JSC Atomenergoprom, and China Nuclear Energy Industry Corporation (CNEIC) concerning technical assistance in the construction of the fourth stage of gas centrifuge plant in the People’s Republic of China.

Russian gas centrifuges are supplied to China on the basis of an intergovernmental agreement with the PRC on cooperation in the area of peaceful use of atomic energy. This is already the fourth stage of gas centrifuge plant based on Russian technology currently being built in China within the framework of the agreement. Russia is one of the world leaders in gas centrifuge technology of uranium enrichment for commercial purposes.

Plants controlled by JSC EC RGC are already forming the next lots to be delivered. The supplies of gas-separating equipment to China will also be continued in 2010.
