On August 19, 2003 President of ALROSA Vladimir Kalitin met with Russia’s ambassadors to diamond-mining countries at the company’s Moscow office.

The meeting took place in the follow-up of the Russian diplomats’ visit to Yakutsk, capital of Sakha (Yakutia). The trip had been arranged in the framework of the Protocol "On Co-operation in Maintenance of International and Foreign Economic Relations in 2003" signed between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation and the Government of Sakha (Yakutia) on December 21, 2002.

Mr. Kalitin received Russia’s ambassadors to diamond-mining and other countries where ALROSA conducts business - Mr. A.V.Kemarsky, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Angola; Mr. I.S.Lyakin-Frolov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Botswana; Mr. N.M.Gribkov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Namibia; Mr. L.P.Moiseev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Australia.

After they had been the company’s guests of honor at its operations and offices in Yakutia, the high-ranking Russian diplomats visited ALROSA operations in Moscow - USO ALROSA, Brillianty ALROSA, ALMAZNY DVOR Trade and Exhibition Centre.

The participants of the meeting are confident that such contacts serve to promote the implementation of objectives determined by the company’s development strategy with an aim to consolidate its international standing and contribute to the development of constructive co-operation between Russian business and Russia’s foreign missions abroad.
