IES-Holding companies are ready to provide for reliable power supply of consumers within autumn-winter period 2008-2009

IES-Holding’s measures on preparation of power objects for the autumn-winter period of 2008-2009 will provide for the maximal reliability and efficiency of power supply in 16 regions of Company’s operation. This was declared by Andrey Shishkin the First Vice-President /Operating Director IES-Holding, at inter-regional press-conference on October 22. Over 200 journalists from Moscow and 16 entities of RF, where IES-Holding companies are operating, took part in the conference.

According to Operating Director of IES-Holding, within the maintenance and repair program of 2008 and the schedule there have been repaired all main generation equipment units including 350 turbo units and 714 boilers (including 84 water boilers). IES generating companies (TGC-5, TGC-6, TGC-7 and TGC-9) invested about 8587,4mln rubles into overhauls and middle-life repairs. Within the preparation campaign for the autumn winter period there were repaired the turbo units with total capacity of 3114MW and boiler units with total productivity of 29 thousand tons per hour, as well as water boilers with total capacity of 1345 Gkal/h. 206,5km of heat networks were replaced. The activity was focused on equipment reliability and efficiency increase. At that new technologies were tested. Advanced materials were used at repair of networks.

According to Andrey Shishkin, trouble-free autumn-winter period is “the top priority” for the Company. “Our goal is to prepare in full IES objects for the winter maximal loads, increase the operation life, improve the technical, economical and ecological parameters, as well as to increase the reliability of power and heat generation”, he declared. Therefore the preparation for the autumn-winter period was initiated in April before the end of the previous heating season, and was conducted under constant control by the operation unit.

By the present moment almost all company’s plants have received the certificates of readiness from IES-Holding; TGCs are waiting for the certificates of readiness from Minenergo. It is planned to complete this activity by November 15, 2008.

“Our four TGCs supply with heat over 10mln people at 16 territories. We bear serious responsibility for the winter period operation and provision of this people with heat and hot water. This is not only technical responsibility, but social”, Andrey Shishkin underlined.
