An employees' conference was held in Gazprom in order to adopt the collective agreement

The Company employees’ conference was held at the Headquarters of Gazprom in order to conclude the collective agreement between Gazprom and the subsidiary companies for the period of 2004 – 2006.

Over a hundred delegates from Gazprom’s subsidiary companies participated in the Conference.

Alexey Miller, the Chairman of the Management Committee, greeted the participants of the Conference. In his speech A. Miller noted that the General Collective Agreement is a mechanism protecting social, economic and labor rights and interests of Gazprom’s employees. Boris Kuzmin, the Head of the Department for personnel management, made a speech on behalf of the employer and Vladimir Bubkin, the Chairman of the Interregional Trade Union of Gazprom, talked on behalf of the employees.

Having listened and discussed the representative reports of both parties as well as the report of the Commission for social and labor disputes settlement between Gazprom and its subsidiaries, the Conference participants unanimously voted for the General collective agreement adoption.

As was stressed at the Conference, the General ?ollective Agreement is a legal act intended to determine and adjust the social and labor relations between the employees and employers of Gazprom based on voluntarily and reality of mutual obligations.

The General Collective Agreement will by signed by Alexey Miller, the Chairman of the Management Committee, and Vladimir Bubkin, the Chairman of the Interregional Trade Union of Gazprom, on the 1st of December of the current year.

The Conference participants approved the staff of the Commission for social and labor disputes settlement between Gazprom and its subsidiaries. According to the Conference resolution, the Commission will be a permanent body intended to arrange control and discussions over making up and implementation of modifications and amendments to the General Collective Agreement for the period of 2004 – 2006.

Summary:

The General Collective Agreement is applied to the employees and employers of Gazprom and its subsidiaries with 100% ownership of Gazprom as well as to elected and assigned managers of the Council of the Interregional Trade Union of Gazprom, trade union divisions of the Company and its subsidiaries.

Signing of the General Collective Agreement is a constituent of Gazprom’s policy pursued to improve the social protection of the Company’s employees. The first steps in this direction were made in 2000 when the Tariff Agreement was signed between the employees and the managers of Gazprom and those of the corporate subsidiaries for the period of 2001 – 2003 as well as signing of the Collective Agreement in 2002 intended to adjust the social and labor relations between the managers and administrative workers of Gazprom.

The key objective of the General collective agreement is coordination of the employees and employers’ interests within the frames of social partnership and provision of favorable guarantees and privileges to the employees in accordance with the RF legislation, other legal acts, the gas Industry Tariff Agreement.

The General Collective Agreement involves the measures meeting the employees’ wishes; the measures on financial assurance in providing general approaches to the problems of social and labor relations within the Company solution.
