DENISKIN Roman Valentinovich He was born in 1967 in Podolsk, Moscow region. In 1984, Roman graduated from secondary school with honors (gold medal). In 1984, he was admitted to mechano-mathematical department of Moscow State University (mechanics division). In 1986-1988, he served in the military. In 1988, Roman returned from the military to study at the gas and wave dynamics department of Moscow State University. In 1991, he graduated from Moscow State University with honors (gold medal) with an emphasis in mechanics of solids. After that he entered the post-graduate program. In 1993, he received the E. Muskie scholarship to study in the US. He graduated with an MA in economics from University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. On his second year of studying towards the MA degree, he received several job offers, of which he picked out McKinsey. He was employed by McKinsey Moscow office from August 1995 through April 2002. In the capacity of a manager, he completed a number of consulting projects on strategy development, increasing efficiency and restructuring of several American, British and Russian companies in the steel and mining industries, including Severstal.
