Severstal's general director was listed in the top twenty Russian business leaders in the first quarter of 2002 in the Club-30 rating, which was conducted be Economic News Agency.

Both entrepreneurs and industrialists, who have a large impact on Russian economy and politics, were included in the rating.

The criteria for the selection were effectiveness and stable development of the companies these leaders head.

Experts noted that improvement of Alexei Mordashov's standing in the rating was caused in part by the company's successful expansion into the water transportation business, in particularly, building strategic presence in many ports. Severstal-Group has achieved the best results in this business of all companies that were involved in it.

Club-30 members were chosen from 150 business representatives by 70 experts.
