The 18^th competition was held at an AO MOSENERGO training range near the town of Kashira. The participants in the this competition will be electricians from 13 grid branches of AO MOSENERGO, including Kolomna, Kashira, Mozhaisk, Podolsk, and Yuzhnye. The Service for High-Voltage Lines of AO MOSENERGO organized the competition.

AO MOSENERGO has held this competition of electricians specializing in grid servicing since 1976. From mid-90’s it’s been held once every two years at the training base of one of AO MOSENERGO’s divisions. The event is a way to carry out a complex check of personnel qualifications.

During the competition, which consists of several stages, the participants demonstrate their professionalism to the jury by carrying out technical operations (replacement of faulty insulators, manual tie-up of cables, etc). In addition, the participants have to evacuate a “victim” from a pylon of 110 kV line and provide emergency aid. When selecting the best team of electricians in servicing grid lines, the jury will examine the speed and quality of task execution, selection of tools and instruments, as well as the compliance with safety rules and internal training methods.

According to the first deputy general director and chief engineer of AO MOSENERGO Igor Goryunov, this competition opens a great opportunity to exchange experience and technical knowledge for the all the company’s personnel.
