Specialists of Samara Distribution Grids of “IDGC of Volga”, OJSC Started Routine Repairs of 110 kV Rozhdestveno substation

The repair operations are being carried out as the part of the annual repair program and preparations for the autumn/winter season 2012/2013. Maintenance works shall contribute to the reliable power supply of consumers in Rozhdestveno, Shelekhmet, Tornovoye, Podgory settlements as well as socially important facilities such as boiler houses, hospital, church and oil pipeline. Power facility is situated in the territory of Zhigulevsky State Natural Reserve named after I.I. Sprygin and the National Park Samarskaya Luka. While carrying out the repair operations within the special natural conservation area the specialists of branch of IDGC of Volga shall exercise their high proficiency and work with due precision and accuracy. Power engineers of Samara Distribution Grids will repair and paint two 10 MVA power transformers; the scope of their work shall include inspection of integrity of diaphragms of exhaust stacks, of rubber seals and discharge cocks. These assemblies will be repaired or replaced as necessary. The specialists will also check operability of pressure gauges at transformer leads and thermal detectors, scrape the insulation of leads, radiators, perform the inspection of blowing electric motors, tight the bolted connections in places of possible oil leakage of tank, on-load tap-changer and pipelines. Furthermore, they will collect oil samples from the main tank, on-load tap-changer tank and transformer leads. Upon completion of repairs and all necessary tests, the equipment shall be exposed to the operational load. Power engineers will also perform routine repair of two isolating switches and 110 kV short-circuiting switches, 22 oil switches of 10 and 35 kV which are intended for prompt switching of separate circuits or electrical equipment in the power grid, 24 disconnectors of 10, 35 and 110 kV and internal 10 kV disconnector. In order to protect equipment against atmospheric overvoltage, the power engineers will repair 8 sets of discharge arresters of 10, 35 and 110 kV and 4 line traps which prevent from loss of signal at substation buses and nearby power transmission lines. For this year Samara branch of “IDGC of Volga”, OJSC will clear 535 ha of the overhead transmission line corridors, repair 277 transformers with total power of about 149 MVA, replace more than 22,300 insulators and 230 km of wire and overhead protection cable, install 1993 new supports. Specialists will fix all identified damages and replace all worn-out components at all facilities included in the repair program of 2012. In order to implement the repair program, the power engineers will invest 205 million rubles. Taking comprehensive measures on an annual basis, with a focus on repairing the equipment and preparing for autumn-winter season is a top-priority objective of Samara Distribution Grids ensuring uninterrupted power supply for consumers.
