Gazprom’s headquarters hosted today a working meeting between Alexander Ananenkov, Deputy Chairman of the Company’s Management Committee and Shinji Kawai, Managing Executive Officer and Member of the Board of Marubeni Corporation.
The parties addressed the prospects for cooperation within the Eastern Gas Program, pondering, among other things, on Marubeni Corporation’s interest in interaction in the gas processing (LNG and CNG production and marketing, products acquisition) and gas chemical sectors in Russia.
In addition, the parties dwelled on issues related to cooperation deepening in the energy conservation, APG utilization and environmental areas.

Marubeni Corporation is a Japanese multi-profile trading company. Its business activities include power generation, chemical industry and metallurgy.
The September 3, 2007 Order by the Russian Federation Industry and Energy Ministry approved the Development Program for an integrated gas production, transportation and supply system in Eastern Siberia and the Far East, taking into account potential gas exports to China and other Asia-Pacific countries (Eastern Gas Program). Gazprom was appointed by the Russian Government as the Program execution coordinator.
