Moscow. 22 October 2004. RAO "UES of Russia" has formed a Central Acceptance Commission, which will put the Sochinskaya TPP into trial operation. An order to that effect has been signed by the Chairman of the Management Board of RAO "UES of Russia" in connection with the completion of the construction of the power plant. Vyacheslav Voronin, member of the Management Board of RAO "UES of Russia" and Managing Director of "Services" Business Unit has been appointed Chairman of the Commission, and Anatoly Kopsov, head of the Capital Construction Directorate of the RAO UES Corporate Center, has been appointed Deputy Chairman.
Sochinskaya TPP ranks among the top priority projects of RAO "UES of Russia". The power plant is scheduled to be commissioned in December 2004. The installed capacity of the plant is 79 MW, with the fuel efficiency of 47.51%. In 2004, RUB3.65 billion in funds have been allocated for the TPP construction, including RUB1.3 in the earmarked funds provided by RAO "UES of Russia" and RUB2.35 billion in loans raised by the Holding Company.
The project targets to ensure reliable power for consumers in the city of Sochi, and to meet the growing energy consumption demand in the area in connection with the creation of a recreation area called "Krasnaya Polyana".
