Over 4,500 children of Severstal employees will spend summer months in the children's recreation camp of Severstal - Orlyonok, health center Rodnichok as well as day time camps, arranged in children's clubs in the city's residential areas.

Parents employed by Severstal pay 10% of the total cost of staying in camps. Over two thirds of the cost is paid by the company, the rest of financing comes from the social insurance fund.

Families which have three or more children, children which are fostered by Severstal employee families, members of the sponsored boarding school have an opportunity to get a free ride to the camp.

In 2001, Severstal spent over 15 million rubles for summer camps for children of the company employees. This summer Orlyonok camp will host 4050 children over three sessions. The health center Rodnichok will host 200 children. Additionally, over 120 children will spend summer months in day time children's camps in residential areas.
