Within the repair program 2016, employees of Ulyanovsk Distribution Grids, a branch of IDGC of Volga, PJSC (a member of Rosseti Group of Companies), conduct repair works of 110 kV Inza-Umys two-circuit overhead power line. Employees of high-voltage power lines service of Baryshskoye Production Department have already repaired one of the circuits of Sura — Umys 110 kV overhead power line.

 Repair of the second Nochka — Umys 110 kV overhead transmission line circuit is conducted according to the schedule. The planned work imply replacement of more than 1,000 old and worn out ceramic insulators into glass ones. Specialists will repair overground sections of pole basements and grounding risers, several sections of ground wires with the total length of 1.7 km are already replaced. Anticorrosive coating will be applied to metal elements of supports, and dispatch markings and safety signs will be renewed. In addition, for the purpose of improving the reliability and safety of overhead line, insulators strings will be double secured at points of intersection with railways.

An important stage of repairs of the overhead lines is clearing overhead line routes from trees and scrubs. During the repairs of Inza-Umys overhead power line the power engineers plan to clear 10 ha of overhead power line routes with the use of mulching complexes. Successful completion of all planned works on Umys-Sura and Umys-Nochka 110 kV overhead power line will allow to improve the reliability of power supply to traction substations of the main line railway facilities of Russian Railways, JSC, a range of consumers of the Inzensky district of the Ulyanovsk region and the Nikolsky district of the Penza region.
