Rosneft and CIMC Enric Holdings Limited signed a cooperation agreement aiming at expanding use of gas as motor fuel within the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. The document was signed by the Chairman of Rosneft Management Board Igor Sechin and CIMC Enric Holdings General Director Liu Chunfeng.
Development of the car gas-filling compressor stations network in Russia is one of the key priorities of Rosneft’s strategy in retail business. Use of the liquefied natural gas as the motor fuel allows the consumers to boost the maximal mileage for one gas-tank and considerably cut the negative impact of the motor transport on the environment.
The signed document provides for implementation of joint technical and economic research for construction of infrastructure that will allow using natural gas as motor fuel in Russian Federation as well as switching the vehicle park to this type fuel. The companies also agreed to estimate the possibilities of construction of Rosneft’s filling stations using technologies of CIMC Enric Holdings.
Notes for editors:
The agreement signed is a logical step in line with the orders voiced by the President of Russia and the country’s Government, which required implementation of the complex of measures focused on enhancement of energy efficiency through expanding use of gas as motor fuel.
