Uralkali donates 450 thousand rubles to the company's veteran organization to mark the Elderly Citizen's Day

The mayor of Berezniki Mr. Igor Papkov and General Direcror of Uralkali Maxim Shirokov warmly greeted the veterans of the company at a festive meeting that was organized at the Uralkali Club in Berezniki to mark the Elderly Citizen's Day.

"The Elderly Citizen's Day gives us another opportunity to express our gratitude for your contribution to the development and growth of this city, for the fact that our city is known well beyond the Perm regions", - said Mr. Papkov, addressing the audience of Uralkali veterans. "We admire your energy, your dedication to the prosperity of our city and we try to take your life for a model. We wish you happiness and health."

"I'm rather reluctant to address you as former workers of Uralkali, veterans or least of all elderly citizens," - said Maxim Shikorov. "Because there is no such thing as former workers of Uralkali. You have proven that by your active public life, your interest in everything that goes on in our company, your desire to be helpful to Uralkaill regardless of the fact that you have earned your right to restful life. Thank you very much for that. Thank you for what you have done for the prosperity of Uralkali. I think that our today's success owes a lot to you because each company's strength lies in its history."

The Uralkali veterans traditionally receive a lot of attention. In 2003 the company donated 9 million 370 thousand rubles to its veteran organization. That is almost two and a half millions more than in the previous year.

Every quarter the company allocates funds to provide material assistance to the pensioners and regularly pays for the organization of various festive events. Twice a year Uralkali sends its veterans for rest and medical treatment to sanatoriums and recreation centers. This year there will be more benefits to come. Now the company undertakes to pay the expenses for the refurbishment of the veterans' apartments and medical treatment of its veterans.
