By October 1, AO MOSENERGO exceeded RAO UES requirements for fuel stocks.
The total coal stocks at AO MOSENERGO power plants exceeded the requirements by 16%. The Company has accumulated 1,253,600 t of coal (though only 1,080,000 t were required).
The plan for fuel oil was exceeded by 6%. The Company has accumulated 648,900 t against 610,000 t set in the plan.
As of today, AO MOSENERGO has sufficient gas reserves to operate safely during the winter. Under current contracts, OOO Mezhregiongaz and other suppliers should deliver more than 7.2 cubic meters of gas in fourth quarter of 2003. In total, in Quarter IV, AO MOSENERGO is set to receive 24 bn cubic meters of gas. In addition, the Company will buy gas from independent producers depending on the needs of the power system and suppliers' capacity.
The accumulation of required fuel stocks, as well as the successful completion of the maintenance campaign, was possible due to efficient sales operations. The main objective at the present stage is to change settlement procedures for the main heat reseller – Mosgorteplo. This task will allow AO MOSENERGO to stop rising debt and improve the financial and economic condition of the company at the beginning of the heating season. The stability of AO MOSENERGO's operations will ensure the reliability of supply in the winter period.
The efficiency of sales operations was confirmed by lower receivables, which decreased in eight months of 2003 by 37% to 5.3 bn rubles. The sales operations of AO MOSENERGO will keep heat and electricity sales at a sustainable high level, which is also a prerequisite for successful operation in the winter period.
