Moscow, October 7, 2003. A delegation of the Toshiba Corporation, led by Mr. Makoto Nakagawa, First Vice President’s of the corporation’s Central Office, arrived in Russia on a three-day visit, October 3 to 5, at the invitation of Sistema JSFC. After a brief stopover in Moscow, the delegation went to Saransk, Mordovia, where it toured the local television plant, whose shareholders include RTI Systems Concern (61% interest) as well as the Mordovian Government, and met with Mordovia’s Governor Nikolai Merkushkin. That was the first time in Toshiba’s history that one of its top-ranking officers went on a visit to Russia. At the end of the talks, working groups were formed to keep up information exchange between the parties and to identify tentative areas of cooperation between Toshiba and Sistema JSFC.
