Orenburg Production Department of Orenburgenergo continues the repair of electric grids

A repair program was launched by Orenburgenergo, a branch of IDGC of Volga, PJSC (a member of Rosseti Group), to maintain reliability and quality of power supplies. The schedule for 2017 includes works at 183 transformer substations in Orenburg and rural settlements nearby. 60 transformers will be delivered to the repair workshop for overhauling.
PD's staff is going to repair over 29 kilometers of power transmission lines. The sweeping repair campaign was launched at the facilities of Orenburg Production Department (PD) in May. The repair operations were completed in fifty streets of Orenburg within one month and a half. “In July, we will work in another forty major and minor streets of the city,” said Dmitry Lipin, Deputy Chief Engineer of Orenburg PD (Orenburgenergo). “We are going to repair equipment of the substations and power transmission lines in the Chkalova, Marshala Zhukova, Kazakovskaya, Zheleznodorozhnaya and other streets.
We'll replace wooden supports and bare wire with reinforced concrete supports and insulated wire, respectively.” The 2017 overhaul campaign covers settlements of the Orenburg district. The duration of the campaign depends on the scope and types of works. The repair operations have been already completed in the Pankratovka, Mazurovka, Krasnaya Polyana, Muzhichiya Pavlovka, Yuny and Gorny settlements. In contrast, the works performed in the Nezhinka, Borodetsky, Chkalovsky, Nikolka and some other settlements (installation of new supports and replacement of wire and equipment of substations) will take several months.
To do that, the repair crews will have to cut off power of residential areas to assure safety. “Repair crew must never work on energized equipment. However, we do our best to minimize any inconvenience: the works are performed during the daytime from 10 a.m. till 5 p.m. By the time people come home from work, the electricity will be on,” declared Dmitry Lipin. The repair crews give to Orenburg residents a prior notice of the outage dates.
A list of streets covered by the repair campaign for the next month is published on the website of Orenburg administration, Orendey information portal and Orenburgskaya Sudarynya newspaper during the period from the 25th day to 30th day of the month. Plus the outage announcements containing exact address, date and time are broadcast on Region TV channel 24 hours before the power is to be off.
