This was stated by the general director of AO MOSENERGO Arkady Yevstafyev in during an internet-conference held by AO MOSENERGO at www.finam.ru—the website of Finance Analitic.

Yevstafyev said that as of June 10, 2002, the company has signed contracts for additional amounts of gas to be supplied by a number of alternative producers. Thus, this year OAO Sibirskaya Neftyanaya Companiya is expected to provide to AO MOSENERGO 783 million m³ of gas, OOO Gazenergoresurs—500 million m³ of gas, ZAO Rospan International—475 million m³ of gas.

So far none of the new sources have started supplying gas because OAO Gazprom’s position prevents the access of independent producers to the gas transportation system, Yevstafyev said.
