June 30, 1997 - LUKOIL President Vagit Alekperov and YELAZ General Director Ravil Zaripov have signed a general agreement on cooperation between the two companies in Moscow today.

YELAZ, under the signed agreement, will develop and produce technological vehicles for oil-production enterprises which will meet LUKOIL's technical requirements.

LUKOIL in turn will sell YELAZ vehicles in Russian regions, and, in accordance with the YELAZ technical standards, will develop new and economical types of fuel and lubricants to be used in manufacturing and utilization of the vehicles.

YELAZ will advertise LUKOIL products at its facilities in Russia and abroad.

LUKOIL gas-filling stations and fast oil-replacement units will be attached to YELAZ car-maintenance centers.

LUKOIL President Vagit Alekperov said at the signing ceremony that this event marks one more step in strengthening cooperation ties between the oil-industry workers and automobile builders. He said that earlier LUKOIL had signed similar agreements with Kamaz, Avtovaz and ZIL.
