Certification Body Commission of management system of quality of Certificate Association “Russian Register” from Saint Petersburg is working at “KAMAZ Inc.” OJSC during this week. It is headed by chief expert of Association Valentin Zakharov.

The period of validity of the Certificate of compliance, which KAMAZ received almost 3 years ago, is due in December, 15, 2003. The present task is to get the certificate, affirming that Quality System of KAMAZ complies with International Standards of ISO 9001 of 2000 version and National Standard (GOST) of 2001 version.

Nickolai Eghorshin, Deputy Director General of “KAMAZ Inc.” OJSC of Quality, said, that according to the new version of ISO 9001, the company developed a “Management System of Quality”, based on 8 principles. The main of which are process approach, constant improving and involving of personnel.

At the first stage of commission, the experts check the development and introduction of documents of management system of quality. There are more than 100 of them, and they were worked out at all departments of the company. The members of the Commission met the management of R&D, learned documentation on creation of new vehicle, visited the Department of the Chief Engineer, where the issue of their attention were the documents on organization of equipment maintenance, and bloc Deputy Director General of “KAMAZ Inc.” OJSC of Personnel and Organization Development. They checked documents in Trade-and- Finance Company, at the Automobile plant and in the Departments of the Chief Metrologist and Production Management. The result of work of Commission at this stage will be the resume of readiness of development and introduction of management system of quality for the second stage. The certificate audit for KAMAZ will be in the first decade of December. Experts will check the practical application of documents – in the production process, if the personnel is acquainted with them, etc.

Among the subsidiaries of KAMAZ one has already finished recertification of its National Standard according to the new version. Small Passenger Car Plant has received the Certificate of compliance in August, 2003.
