JSC Atomenergoprom has established a 100% subsidiary – JSC Management Center for Nuclear Industry Non-Core Assets (TsentrAtom). The objective for this new subsidiary will be to enhance management efficiency for nuclear industry enterprises and to create non-budgetary financing sources for State Atomic Energy Corporation Rosatom’s Long-Term Action Plan (2009-2015).
The Center will direct its activities towards increasing economical returns from Rosatom’s non-core property, optimizing shareholding structure, and increasing asset liquidity through efficient management and disposal of non-core assets integrated in the corporation structure. The new subsidiary will focus on the strategic development of non-core enterprises and efficient use of their assets.
The Atomenergoprom Board of Directors made a decision to contribute 100% of shares belonging to several Atomenergorpom subsidiaries in order to build a charter capital for TsentrAtom. These subsidiaries include Atomspetskomservis (housing maintenance), Zhilkomservis (housing and utilities), Baikal Hotel Complex, OLenKur Recreation and Sports Center, Information and Exhibition Center for Nuclear Industry, and Media Center for Nuclear Industry. An inventory of non-core assets is currently in process and upon its completion, these assets will be transferred to TsentrAtom based on the compiled inventory.
Andrey Vladimirovich Zasypkin has been appointed General Director of the Management Center for Nuclear Industry Non-Core Assets. Since May 2008, A. V. Zasypkin has held the position of Deputy General Director, National Media Group. Mr. Zasypkin also served as Chairman of the Board of Directors for National Telecommunications from June 2008 through June 2009.
