Eighteen Severstal’s Employees Received MBA Diplomas

They are manufacturing experts, technology experts, sales people from 7 company units. All of them graduated from the Business School of the University of Nortumbria. They have studied in England for 1 year and successfully completed this internationally accredited program of preparing professional mangers.

Presently, there are 30 MBA graduates at Severstal. 50 other students are continuing education in various forms at this British Business School. Upon Severstal’ request this program of studies is tailored to managing ferrous steel making companies.

Other companies of the steel making division of Severstal-group also receive education in England. Former and present graduates of the New Castle School of Business were put in charge of various Severstal’s businesses. For example, Vadim Shvetsov heads the Severstal-Auto, Leonid Gavrilov the HR department of Severstal, Alexander Tumanov- is a commercial director of Severgal, Dmitry Afanasyev heads Severstal’s Corporate University.

An opportunity for Severstal’s personnel to receive front line knowledge is an important part of Severstal’s corporate culture,” said Kruchinin at the graduation ceremony. “Our HR program is top priority in the list of our six strategic programs,” he emphasized.

According to Severstal’s HR department statistics over 3,000 of Severstal’s employees are students. Three fourth of that number are employed in blue color jobs while receiving their first degrees.
