COMSTAR-UTS provides Internet access through metro tickets

April 27, 2009, Moscow: COMSTAR – United TeleSystems (COMSTAR-UTS, LSE: CMST), the leading supplier of integrated telecommunication solutions in Russia and the CIS, has announced a new price plan for COMSTAR METRO 2.5 wireless broadband Internet services in Moscow and special promo action for subscribers who had chosen this tariff. The new price plan provides free of charge Internet access for a month.

This tariff may be subscribed through the action-specific metro passage ticket. To do this, subscribers shall present it in one of the STREAM sales and service centers, by getting connected via authorized dealers or by using it during self-registration at www.stream.ru.

The action-specific passage ticket was distributed to all metro ticket offices on April 25. One of its sides bears the motto “Your ticket to the Internet” Par value of the ticket is 10, 20 or 60 trips.

The users who have already subscribed to STREAM (COMSTAR) services will get a bonus from the company – 100 rubles to their personal account. To do this, users shall enter the ticket number into a special graph through their personal room.

The promo action will be in force from April 27 to May 31. In a month following their subscription, all subscribers being served according to the COMSTAR METRO 2.5 price plan and who have not switched over to another tariff or waived further STREAM (COMSTAR) services will automatically transfer to STREAM 2.5 HIT .

Evgeny Abramov, COMSTAR-UTS director for marketing and products and services development on the mass market, says: “Easy connection is what big city dwellers are looking for, and we are glad to make advances towards our potential users in arranging such promo actions. Many Moscow dwellers buy metro tickets every day, and we are expecting a good response to this promo action, the more so as access services are provided by the leader on the Moscow broadband Internet market.”
