October 24, V. Kirillov-Director of Federal Ecosystem Exploitation Supervision (Rosprirodnadzor) paid an information visit to "Nizhnekamskneftekhim" INC.

The Director of the Environmental Authority visited a PP Production Facility, met V. Busygin, General Director of "Nizhnekamskneftekhim" INC. In a mass media interview, V. Kirillov resumed that he was content with the Company's environmental implementations. "Over RUR 1.5 bn for ecological implementations – that is great!" – pointed out he.

V. Busygin, the Company General Director, named upgrading the Company Biological Treatment Plants as a major environmental objective for the near future.

"Nizhnekamskneftekhim" INC ecological safety complies with the up to date international requirements. The Company has all indispensable environmental constructions.

In 2007, a Long-Term Ecological Program was launched for the period until 2015. The estimated cost to implement the same will run to around RUR 5.3 bn. The Environmental Management System, the first among the Tatarstan companies, was certified to comply with ISO 14001 as far back as 2003.

In September 2003, a gold certificate was assigned to "Nizhnekamskneftekhim" INC three Management Systems: Quality, Environmental and Safety, - conformi ng to the international requirements of ISO 9001:2000, ISO 14001:2004, OHSAS 18001:1999.

The Governments of the Tatarstan Republic and of the Russian Federation give much credit to "Nizhnekamskneftekhim" INC efficient environmental activity: per the 2005-2007 results, the Company was honored with a title "Leader of Environmental Activity in Russia"; in 2006 and 2007 it won the national ecology prize of Russia "EcoWorld"; last year, it was recognized an absolute winner at the republican contest "EcoWorld".
