On February 13-14, 2007, the summing-up ceremony of the 6th all-Russian competition titled "Russian Company of High Social Efficiency" was held in the State Kremlin Palace in Moscow. A 3rd degree diploma for ranking third in the "Social Program Implementation" nomination awarded to North-West Telecom OJSC was handed to Tatiana A. Shuiskaya, Chairperson of the NWT territorial trade union organization.

The "Russian Company of High Social Efficiency" competition is an annual established in 2000 by resolution of the Russian Federation Government, under the patronage of ministries and agencies and involving national associations of employers and trade unions. The sponsors see its main goal in drawing attention to solving social problems and in demonstration, by the example of the best companies (the contest winners) of high efficiency of social work, and broad propagation and broad propagation and encouragement of positive experience in this area. 

North-West Telecom OJSC bears social responsibilities not only to its employees, but also to residents of the North-Western Federal District where the Company provides its services. The most important social projects implemented by North-West Telecom in 2005-2006 were aimed at support to veterans and perpetuation of memory of deeds of heroes and victims of the Great Patriotic War (in particular, "Telephone Connection Program for Invalids and Veterans of the Great Patriotic War"), and at implementation of up-to-date technologies in socially sensitive spheres of life, such as opening of telemedicine centers etc. T. A. Shuiskaya commented that "being the largest operator in the North-West, North-West Telecom realizes its role in the District's social development, actively cooperates with governmental and non-governmental institutions and organizations in handling the most acute social problems. The Company's social programs are aimed at improvements in the living standards of both its own employees and the District's population".
