The conference was opened by Alexander Stepanov, Severstal's technical director. The conference gathered young employees of the Severstal-group, the largest steel-making companies of Russia and Ukraine, mining and machine-building plants of the Russian Federation. The list of participating companies included Azovstal, Zaporozhstal, Western Siberian Steel Mill, Magnitogorsk Steel Mill, Nizhny Tagil Steel Mill, Izhora Plant and professors of Cherepovets State University and St. Petersburg State Technical University. Over 120 people from all parts of the country will take part in the conference in Cherepovets. The conference was arranged by the HR Department and the Council of Young Employees of Severstal. The goal of the event is to develop creative potential of young specialists and engineers and to exchange experience among various companies of Russia's leading industries. For many young employees it's not the first time they are taking part in the conference, which shows their are greatly interested in the event. The conference will be arranged in five panels, including Raw Materials and Energy Resources, Production of Crude Steel, Production of Rolled Steel, Information Technologies, and Management. Production of Rolled Steel is the panel which drew the most number of participants - 29 employees will present reports at this panel. Special committees made of Severstal managers and specialists will evaluate each panel's performance and presented reports. The authors of most interesting and effective innovations will receive prizes and special diplomas. The leaders of youth unions of companies present at the conference will have an opportunity to take part in a round table discussion of a range of issues, pertaining to youth policies.
