ROSSETI

March 13, 2021

Vadimir Vladimirov, the Governor of Stavropol Krai, and Andrey Ryumin, the head of Rosseti, discussed the development of the regional grid complex. Implementing green energy projects is among the priorities

Stavropol Krai is among the leaders in terms of growth of renewable energy sources. Last year, the largest operating wind power plant in Russia, the Kochubeyevskaya wind farm (210 MW), was commissioned here. Rosseti connected the facility to the Unified National Electric Grid.

According to the governor, more green projects are coming, including the construction of a larger Kuzminskaya wind farm (220 MW).

“Wind power is becoming customary to Stavropol Krai. And we expect to make it “branded”. Maintaining the current pace will make it possible to have about 12% of the regional energy balance ensured by wind generation by the end of next year. We are estimating that by this time our wind farms will reach a total capacity of 550 MW. And then the share of environmentally friendly technologies in the regional energy complex should only grow,” emphasized Vladimir Vladimirov.

“Stavropol Krai is one of the most densely populated subjects of the Russian Federation. It is among the industrial leaders of the North Caucasus and has unique recreational resources. Geographic and climatic conditions stimulate the occurrence of renewable energy facilities. In this regard, Rosseti supports the implementation of such projects and, in general, provides for the reliable power supply and the development of networks for further socio-economic growth of the region. We are planning to invest 7.8 billion rubles in Stavropol Krai by the end of 2024,” pointed out Andrey Ryumin.

The landmark projects of Rosseti to be completed in Stavropol Krai in 2021 include:

·         Construction of a highly automated 110 kV Mikhailovsk substation (50 MVA), which will provide a reserve capacity for the development of Mikhailovsk town and the international airport named after A.V. Suvorov;

·         Renovation of Red October and Yuzhnaya 110 kV power centers to ensure the technical connection of the agro-industrial complex and a new residential area in Stavropol.

By 2024, it is planned to reconstruct the 110 kV Vostochnaya substation with an increase in transformer capacity by 16 MVA to connect residential facilities in the capital of the region.
