At the Far Eastern Plant Zvezda in Bolshoy Kamen, the Far Eastern Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Center (FESRC) and the Federal State Unitary Enterprise Rosmorport (Rosmorport) signed an Agreement on cooperation in shipbuilding.
The documents envisages the use of the Zvezda Shipyard capacities to design and build ships for Rosmorport, as well as a potential orders provided by this company including a series of icebreakers for operations in the Russian Arctic.
The construction of high-tech vessels will enable an optimal utilization of the capacity of the modern Zvezda Shipyard and will supply Rosmorport's demand for icebreakers built under cutting-edge technologies.

The Zvezda Shipyard is being established at the premises of the Far Eastern Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Center by the Consortium of Rosneftegaz, Rosneft and Gazprombank. The Pilot Scope of Work for the shipyard will be provided by Rosneft that has an exclusive agreement with FESRC regarding placement of all the orders for manufacturing of new marine equipment and vessels at its facilities, as well as contracts for design, construction and delivery of four multi-purpose supply vessels of the reinforced ice-class Icebreaker 7. New vessels of about 100 m long will be able to operate in extremely harsh environments of Rosneft offshore projects in the northern seas.
Rosneft endeavors best efforts to implement the shipyard construction project. With a view to ensure brand new shipbuilding and marine equipment construction technologies, the Company engages types of equipment which have not been previously used at Russian shipyards.
The key mission of Rosmorport is to contribute into development of the Russian sea transport infrastructure and higher competitiveness of the Russian seaports. The company ensures effective use, maintenance and development of the assigned federal property in the seaports. Rosmorport takes an active part in realization of federal target programs of the Russian sea transport development and provides safe navigation in the water area and on the ways to seaports.
