AO MOSENERGO conducted repairs at Hydro Unit No. 1 at ZaGAES from mid-May under the program for preparation for winter load peak. In accordance with operation rules the unit must be repaired once every five years. The repairs helped to remove defects of the flow-in section of the facility and bearing units. Seals also were replaced. Now the equipment is ready for continued operation.

In addition, in preparation for the winter season, AO MOSENERGO conducted the capital repair of 500 kV transformer and 500kV switch at ZaGAES. The schedule of repairs also included the reinforcement of the dam at the upper pool and work-over of pipelines.

The amount of funds allocated to ZaGAES for the preparation for the heating season equals 73 million rubles. According to the director of ZaGAES Vladimir Magruk, the repairs will help to ensure the reliable operation of the company during the winter season. A new electric boiler will be built, which will provide autonomous heat supply to the hydro-unit. The construction of the boiler will take one year. Currently, adjustment and regulation works are being conducted at the facility. The trial launch will be made in August, while in October the boiler will be put into continuous operation.
