The JS companies Leningradsky Metallichesky Zavod and Electrosila have completed installation and adjustment operations of principal equipment for the SPP "Ramin" in Iran. In June this year the last power bock of the plant was put into commercial operation.
The project began in the middle of the 70th, when the contract for a "turnkey" construction of the SPP "Ramin" was signed with the Iranian side as part of the Soviet-Iranian intergovernmental agreement. All together 6 steam turbines of a 300 Mw capacity, forming units with condensers, manufactured by the LMZ and 6 turbo-generators of similar capacity made by "Electrosila" were produced for the plant.
Tow steam turbines for the SPP "Ramin" were delivered in 1977 – 1979, then due to the war with Iraq the construction was stopped. Delivery of the equipment was in the middle of the 90th. Besides supplying the Iran side with the equipment the specialists of the plant supervised all stages of installation and adjustment of the principal equipment.
Construction of the SPP "Ramin" is not the only project of Cupertino of the Power Machines Group with the Iranian steam power plants. In June 2002 the Group’s enterprises brought to completion production of the principal equipment for the first block of the atomic power plant "Busher". The capacity of the block is 1000 Mw. Altogether 16 steam turbines with total capacity of 3545 Mw (LMZ) and 9 turbo-generators with total capacity of 3046 (Electrosila) Mw have been delivered to Iran.
The SPP "Ramin" is situated in the south-west of Iran in the city of Ahvaz on the bank of the river, having the same name, within 50 km form the Persian Gulf.
