Today the Gazprom headquarters hosted a working meeting between Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Company's Management Committee and Anatoly Chubais, Director General of RUSNANO.
The parties discussed the progress with the Protocol of Joint Actions highlighting that a great scope of work had been done for less than a year since its signing. The work will result in a significantly wider use of nanotechnologies at Gazprom's facilities.
In furtherance of the meeting Gazprom and RUSNANO signed a Program to boost the demand for innovative and, inter alia, nanotech products in the gas industry. A number of Russian equipment producers servicing the gas industry will take part in the Program.
Pursuant to the Document, from 2011 to early 2013 Gazprom and RUSNANO will select projects of potential interest for Gazprom, elaborate specifications for manufactured products and make testing. After that, the parties will arrange commercial production of nanotech products for the gas industry. They are supposed to be used in construction of gas pipelines, compressor stations, oil production facilities, during repair operations and for energy supply to Gazprom's facilities.
Background
In November 2010 Gazprom and RUSNANO signed the Protocol of Joint Actions that identified the key areas of cooperation between the companies for the purpose of expanding the use of nanotechnologies at gas industry companies.
