MOSENERGO (TGC-3)

July 22, 2002

TEZ-11 has completed capital repairs on the main equipment

During the repair the company has replaced some parts of boiler no. 7 and rebuilt turbine generator no.7. This will help to reduce the fuel consumption and increase the reliability of the equipment during the heating season. The station has also completed the capital repair of one of the water cooling towers.

In addition to capital repairs, TEZ-11 is carrying out the middle-scale equipment repair. By present, water boiler no. 4 has been repaired. Its gas equipment has been brought in full compliance with existing safety rules. The company continues to check and eliminate minor defects at boilers no. 5 and 8. In September, the company plans to repair turbine generator no. 9.

This year, the company has paid much attention to the internal heating grid at the station, eliminating pipe defects, repairing pumps and cleaning boilers.

AO MOSENERGO has allocated 136 million rubles, to prepare TEZ for the winter period, which is 12% less than was originally scheduled. The reduction in repairs funding is caused by insufficient level of tariffs that were set this spring. According to Gennady Kolechkin, chief engineer at TEZ-11, a number of operations had to be postponed until next year.

Now TEZ-11 is completing the second stage of the technical re-equipment. The company is testing the gas and fuel oil boiler, which is a part of the new power block no. 10 built under AO MOSENERGO's upgrades program for 1996-2000. All equipment at the unit should be fully prepared for operation by the start of the heating season.
