Repair campaign is finished at power grid facilities of Chuvashenergo, a branch of IDGC of Volga, PJSC (a member of Rosseti Group of Companies). This year, specialists of the branch repaired 634 km of 0.4-10 kV overhead transmission lines and 211 km of 35-110 kV overhead transmission lines. In particular, technicians replaced 2,800 power transmission supports, 177 km of electrical wire and over 13 thousand insulators. Besides, power engineers repaired 456 6-10/0.4 kV transformer substations and performed an overhaul for 22 110/35/6-10 kV substations. Other works included replacement of metal cross-arm beams, alignment of supports, etc.

The maintenance campaign also comprised clearing and widening power transmission lines fire-breaks from trees and bushes on the area of 563.5 hectares. For this, modern mulcher machinery was used at each Chuvashenergo's Production Department that considerably increased the speed of clearing process with complete slash disposal. This technology, with the wood pulp being mixed with the top soil, offers the most environmentally friendly solution. The entire cycle of cleaning, mulching and removal of wood chips can be done in a single step. Furthermore, power engineers use bulldozers for working on hard-to-pass, marshridden sites.

These works performed as part of the planned repair campaign are essential for safe and reliable operations during the autumn and winter seasons. Similar activities are carried out in all branches of IDGC of Volga, PJSC including Ulyanovsk Distribution Grid, Mordovenergo, Penzaenergo, Samara Distribution Grids and Saratov Distribution Grids.
