Moscow, November 3, 2003 - RBC (RTS, MICEX: RBCI) has received the "Brand of the Year/EFFIE 2003" award in the category "Corporations and Organizations." According to the panel of judges, among RBC's main marketing achievements in 2003 were: creating the image of an open company in transition from organic growth to expansions; establishing an innovation channel for delivering information products to consumers; ensuring brand recognition worldwide and outstanding financial performance.
"RBC's successful IPO and the establishment of the first Russian business television made us reconsider our approach towards the way we position ourselves: most attention was paid to moving the company to a higher business league," General Director of RBC Yury Rovensky said. "I think, RBC managed to achieve this goal, and the "Brand of the Year" award perfectly proves this."
"Brand of the Year" is an annual award established to praise the most successful projects in the sphere of creating and promoting brands to the Russian market. In 2001, the award was admitted to the EFFIE international system, the world's most respectable award program in the sphere of marketing communications.
According to Russian Economic Development and Trade Minister German Gref, "the award's authority went beyond the limits of professional marketing and established itself as a symbol of business reputation gained on the market, from end consumers and within the business community."
The award ceremony was held on October 31 in Expocenter.
