· "UTK" PJSC generated a total revenue of RUR 9,493.2 mln for 9 months of 2003 which is up 25.6% compared to the same period last year. In addition revenues from telecom services rose by 27.3%.
· Sales income increased by 25,5% standing at RUR 2,402.3 mln.
· From the beginning of 2003 number of basic telephones rose by 191.6 thousand sets (up 71.8% compared to 9 months of 2002).
· 9M2003 volume of long-distance traffic is up17.8%.
"UTK" PJSC generated a total revenue of RUR 9,493.2 mln for 9 months of 2003 which is up 25.6% compared to the same period last year. In addition revenues from telecom services reached RUR 9,312.5 mln, up 27.3% year-on-year, including:
- domestic and international long-distance telephony accounting for 50.5% (up 22,0% to RUR 4,703.9 mln),
- urban telephony – for 31.8% (up 41.1% to RUR 2,963.4 mln),
- rural telephony – for 7.5% (up 47.2% to RUR 701.4 mln),
- value-added services (Internet, ISDN, intelligent network, IP-telephony, VPN, CTV services, call-centers) – for 3.9% (up 63.9% to RUR 365.5 mln), including Internet share in revenue structure from VAS being 63.3% (up 36.5% to RUR 231.3 mln),
- public telephone stations – for 3% (up 12.9% to RUR 281.9 mln),
- other services (wired radio, radio broadcasting, paging) – for 3.3% (down 10.6% to RUR 296.4 mln).
Operating expenses stood at RUR 7,090.9 mln (up 25.6%), including:
- salaries and wages – 33.1% (32.3% for 9M2002)
- depreciation charges – 10.4% (10.6%)
- payments to “Rostelecom” OJSC – 14.3% (15.2%)
- taxes – 11.5% (12.8%)
- other operating costs – 30.7% (29.1%)
EBITDA parameter rose by 25.1% reaching RUR 3,141.4 million, operating profit determined RUR 2,402.3 million (+25,5%). EBITDA margin rate reached 33.1%
Pre-tax profit is down 14.1% standing at RUR 1,713 million. Net profit totaled RUR 1,347.5 million (down 4.6%).
9M2003 capex was RUR 5,051.1 million (151.9 %), fixed assets put into service stood at RUR 3,486 million (+162,0%). Automatic telephone exchanges with total installed capacity of 281 245 lines (+64.9%) were put into operation. The Company’s depreciation charges rose by 24.1% standing at RUR 739.1 million due to active application of leasing mechanism and considerable growth of fixed assets put into service.
From the beginning of 2003 number of basic telephones rose by 191 574 sets (up 71.8% over 9M2002) including 140 435 sets – in urban telephone network and 51139 sets – in rural telephone network. Thus, as at 1 October, 2003 "UTK" PJSC operates 3.46 million basic telephone sets including 2.63 million – in urban TN and 0.83 million sets – in rural TN.
The volume of long-distance traffic for 9 months of 2003 stood at 1 435 million minutes (+17,8%), including 1 357 mln minutes of long-distance domestic traffic (+18,5%) and 78 mln minutes of long-distance international traffic (+7,9%).
Average number of the Company’s employees on pay-roll is decreasing in conformity to plan; as at 1 October, 2003 it was 41 064 people (a 3.5%-decrease on the beginning of 2003). Revenue per 1 employee is up 33% standing at RUR 224 ths, number of lines per 1 employee is up 12% reaching 80 lines.
