To fulfill its investment program for 2016, Ulyanovsk Distribution Grids (UDG), a branch of IDGC of Volga, PJSC (a member of Rosseti Group of Companies), reconstructed 0.4 kV power transmission line located in the Akhmetley settlement (Nikolayevsky district, Ulyanovsk region).
UDG's reconstruction team installed 289 reinforced concrete supports and replaced 8.5 km of standard wire with safe and reliable self-supported isolated (SSI) wires with larger diameter and longer service life. Cable entry systems of 241 residential houses were also equipped with SSI wires. 36 overvoltage suppressors (0.4 kV) were installed to protect the equipment against lightning surges and direct strikes. Obsolete package transformer substations gave way to three new substations.
As soon as the consumers are connected to the overhauled line, UDG's contractor will dismount the old line of the rural community which had been in operation since 1978.
This distribution grid reconstruction campaign both enhanced the quality and reliability of power supplies to rural residents and community facilities and provided new connection opportunities.
