Siberian Chemical Plant (SCP) will become the biggest gas consumer in the Tomsk region

In Seversk, the town of the Tomsk region, a ceremony dedicated to the commissioning of a gas distribution station which delivers gas to the Siberian Chemical Plant’s power plant.

Victor Stativko, Gazprom’s Deputy Head of the Gas transmission, underground storage utilization, Vitaly Markelov, Tomsktransgaz’s Director General, Vladimir Shidlovsky, SCP’s Director General, Olga Kozlovskaya, Deputy Governor of the Tomsk region, and Nilolai Kuzmenko, Seversk’s Administration Head, attended the event.

In future, the SCP power plant is expected to annually consume some 1.5 bcm of natural gas. Therefore, the SCP power plant will become the largest gas consumer in the Tomsk region.

Gas fuel, as compared with alternative fuels, enables the SCP to reduce transmission costs by RR 54 mln and emissions into the atmosphere by 70%.

Tomsktransgaz, a Gazprom’s subsidiary, will supply natural gas to the power plant.

Tomsktransgaz incorporates 16 organizations located in 5 subjects of the Russian Federation. Total length of the corporate gas pipelines is 4,384 km. Tomsktransgaz delivers gas to over 400 large gas consumers.
