Today, Mr. Alexander Ananenkov, Gazprom’s Management Committee Executive Chairman, met Mr. Thomas Hayek, Pratt&Whitney’s Vice President, at Gazprom’s headquarters.
Mr. Ananenkov and Mr. Hayek discussed issues on arranging the manufacture of Pratt&Whitney-developed FT8 gas turbines in Russia.
The parties signed a Letter of Intention calling for setting up a joint work group to elaborate feasibility study of the gas turbine production in Russia.
The work group will determine gas turbine series types to be used for gas pumping and power generation on the Russian and the CIS markets, consider the possibility of joint manufacture of gas turbines at a Russian plant, and develop technical, organizational, economic, financial and time criteria for assessing the project feasibility.
In addition, the issues of Pratt&Whitney’s investment and technical strategy on the Russian market under the conditions of growing competitiveness between domestic and foreign gas turbine manufacturers were also discussed at the meeting.
