Within the frame of executing an investments project the employees of IDGC of Volga, JSC branch, the Ulyanovsk Distribution Grids have completely finished reconstruction of airways with 10/0.4 kV in the suburban village of Karlinskoye. The length of the reconstructed sections of high-voltage lines 0.4 kV amounts 6.1 km; and 1.36 km of the 10 kV lines.

The specialists of lines services changed 182 old supports. In order to enhance reliability and provide uninterrupted power supply on the reconstructed lines self-supporting insulated conductor is used. Application of this type of a conductor allows to significantly reduce losses during transportation of electric power as well as excludes the possibility of unauthorized connection to the networks and theft of wires. Besides, the employees of the branch have assembled a package transformer substation (PTS) with a capacity of 0.16 MVA designed for reception of alternating current power of 10 kV, transformation and further distribution of it among the consumers.

The PTS reduces load on the equipment and ensures observance of regulations in the sphere of operation of power installations. The works for modernization of the high-voltage lines in the village of Karlinskoye were executed since April 2008. During all this period of time Ulyanovsk powermen have restructuresed more than 11 km of air lines of 10/0.4 kV and replaced 345 supports. During two years of technical rearmament of power objects of the village of Karlinskoye about seven million rubles were spent. Having finished reconstruction of power equipment in the village of Karlinskoye Ulyanovsk powermen have completely executed the year plan of commissioning and modernization of electric power objects that can impact successful operation during autumn and spring period of time.
