From the beginning of operation the OWTS-150 mobile laboratory the specialists of IDGC of Volga, PJSC (a member of Rosseti Group) conducted a survey of more than 100 cable lines (CL) with cross-lined polyethylene insulation.

Diagnostics of CL using partial discharge method allows to identify at early stages the growth of cable line insulation defects and to predict the trouble-free operation to fault-inception time. This allows to organize quality maintenance, scheduled repair, and finally to avoid the ceasing power supply to the consumers.

The works on cable lines diagnostics are held regularly in all branches of IDGC of Volga, PJSC, where they are in operation: Saratov Distribution Grids, Samara Distribution Grids, Mordovenergo, and Orenburgenergo. In addition, the cable lines in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Voronez were surveyed by experts of IDGC of Volga, PJSC.
