The 110/35/10 kV Russia substation with voltage of 110 kV is located in the central part of Stepnoye settlement, Soviet district, the Saratov region. It is a key power facility of the district center, which supplies power to much of residential and industrial consumers, as well as irrigation infrastructure facilities.
In anticipation of the autumn and winter period, the staff of Privolzhskoye Production Department (PD) of Saratov Distribution Grids, a branch of IDGC of Volga, PJSC (a member of Rosseti Group of Companies), carried out scheduled repair of Russia SS. In particular, the following equipment was overhauled: oil circuit breakers of 6 kV and 35 kV (15 pcs), disconnectors of 35 kV and 110 kV (21 pcs) (including installing metal roofs to protect personnel during switching), cubicle-type voltage switchgear (KRUN) (14 pcs), 110 kV isolating switches and short-circuitors (4 pcs).
Repair was also performed for 2 power transformers and 2 auxiliary transformers, 6 collector busbars of 6-110 kV, 24 surge arrestors and overvoltage suppressors of 6-110 kV, 4 voltage transformers of 6 kV and 35 kV, coupling capacitors and wave trap.
In addition, the replacement of 21 insulators of 110 kV and 12 insulators of 35 kV, repair of oil receivers under power transformers (providing oil drains and carrying the neutral disconnectors out of oil receivers), upgrading the airblowing devices for blasting the power transformers (installing up-to-date motors and automation) were performed. Implementation of energy efficiency program for lighting system (modern led lighting fixtures were installed in KRUN-10 kV), set-up of reception portals with replacement of air lines’ overhangs, complete repair of heating system of the substation equipment, painting of anchor towers of 35-110 kV overhead lines were carried out, as well as new nonfading and noncorrosive tags with dispatch names were applied at the substation.
Implementation of the repair program in full, to time and quality is one of the key factors in increasing the reliability of power supply to consumers. Similar work within preparation for smooth and continuous operations during the autumn-winter season are performed in other branches of IDGC of Volga, PJSC.
