Moscow. 13 November 2003. On 14 November, the Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Mikhail Kasyanov and the Chairman of the Management Board of RAO "UES of Russia" Anatoly Chubais will attend the start-up ceremony at the second generating unit of Nizhnevatrovskaya TPP. The power plant is located in the settlement of Izluchinsk, Yugry, Nizhnevartovsk District, Khanty-Mansi Autononous Okrug, Tyumen Region.
The start-up ceremony will also be attended by the Plenipotentiary Representative of the Russian President to the Urals Federal Okrug Petr Latyshev, Tyumen Region Governor Sergey Sobyanin, Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug Governor Alexandre Filipenko, and Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug Governor Yury Neelov.
The start-up of the second generating unit at Nizhnevartovskaya TPP is a significant event not only for the electricity industry, but also for the national economy as a whole, not only for Tyumen Region, but for the whole of the country. The installed capacity of the generator is 800 MW. It is the first generating unit of such high capacity to have been built in Russia over the past 10 years.
