On 18th February 2005 the 2nd international conference ‘Role of Corporate Mass Media in Company Management’ was held in the Balchug hotel in Moscow. The conference was organized by the Association of Corporate Media of Russia (ACM). More than 170 representatives of major Russian and international companies gathered for the event.  

The midpoint of the event was the award of the Annual National Prize in the field of Corporate Media The Best Corporate Edition of 2005. About 100 corporate mass media took part in the competition for the prize.  55 editions took part in the ‘newspapers’ nomination and 24 in the ‘magazines’ nomination. Besides, several radio and TV programmes and corporate sites participated.   The assessment criteria were the design, printing quality, presentation of materials, contents and efficiency. Marks were given using the five-point scale.

The corporate newspaper of OJSC North-West Telecom – SvyaZisT Severo-Zapada – has been recognized the best corporate edition of the year 2005 in the communications sector.

The jury included leading specialists and professionals in the field of media industry:  Yevgeny Abov – Deputy General Manager of Prof-Media, Vice-President of WAN (World Association of Newspapers), Alexander Loktev – General Manager of the Sekret Firmy Publishing House, Jemir Degtyarenko – General Manager of the MediaHouse Publishing House, Mikhail Mikhailin – Editor-in-Chief of the Gazeta newspaper, Dmitry Merezhko - Chief Executive of the Association of Independent Regional Publishers, Alexander Skobelev – Parlamentskaya Gazeta newspaper,  Yury Rovensky – General Manager of RBK, Miroslav Koshelyuk – General Manager of the Printsip PR agency.     

SvyaZisT Severo-Zapada is the corporate newspaper of NWT, starting from 2004 it has been issued on a quarterly basis with a circulation exceeding 10,000 copies. Almost 34,500 employees of all the 10 branches of the company, subsidiaries and associate companies and the major shareholders are its regular readers.
