On 22nd February 2005, in the framework of the Norwecom-2005 exhibition in the Central A.S. Popov Museum of Communications the prize Leader of Russian Business in the Telecommunications sector was awarded to V.A. Akulich, General Manager of OJSC North-West Telecom, and L.Z. Tufrin, An-Acting Regional Director of the branch Petersburg Telephone Network of OJSC North-West Telecom.

The prize Leader of Russian Business in Telecommunications sector was established by the Staff of the Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation President in the Northwestern Federal District, the Ministry of the Russian Federation for Information Technologies and Communication and by the Restek Exhibition Association.

The prize symbolizes recognition and appreciation of the accomplishments of the best managers of Russia working in the field of telecommunications.
