According to Resolution No. 13/05-14 dated August 14, 2002 adopted by the Supervisory Board of the Anti-Monopoly Ministry of the Russian Federation local subscriber tariffs of OJSC Chelyabinsksvyazinform are to be revised effective September 1, 2002. Monthly subscriber fees (for basic telephone services) will be raised to Rub 95 for household customers and Rub 145 for legal entities. In addition, special discount tariffs applicable to certain categories of the public are to remain in effect.
From August 7 to 15, 2002 the Supervisory Board of the Anti-Monopoly Ministry passed resolutions to revise the local telephone tariffs for 35 natural monopoly business entities in the sphere of telecommunications of the Russian Federation.
The aforementioned resolutions were aimed at implementing RF Government Resolution No. 715 "On improving the mechanism for the state regulation of tariffs for telecommunications services", i.e. bringing local in line with actual costs.
Residential subscriber telephone fees are to be raised Rub 10 - 15 on the average and exceptionally Rub 20 in certain regions of the Russian Federation.
This tariff revision is being carried out within the framework of eliminating cross subsidization and is aimed at setting uniform tariffs for budget-funded and business organizations, as they are eventually to be merged into a single category.
