The Board of Directors of CenterTelecom approved at its 24th January Board of Directors meeting the pro-formas and ballot sheets for the general shareholders meeting to be held on February 20, 2003. Nominees for members of the Board of Directors and the position of director general of the unified company have also been approved for presentation at the meeting. The Board of Directors will be called upon to elect 11 of the 14 nominees proposed by shareholders. Ruben Amaryan, the current head of the company, has been proposed for the position of director general. The proposal in support of Armanyan was made by the major shareholder of CenterTelecom, OJSC Svyazinvest, which owns a 51% stake in the company. The Board of Directors has also examined the major regulatory documents of the mega-regional company and intends to present them for approval at the upcoming shareholders' meeting.
