Pilot production starts at gas condensate field in Bolshekhetskaya depression

LUKOIL started pilot production at the Yuzhno-Messoyakhskoye gas condensate field of the Bolshekhetskaya depression, Yamal-Nenets Autonomous District, Russia.

As of today, the company has drilled one multi-bore well with daily flowrate of 330 thousand cubic meters of natural gas and 30 metric tons of condensate. The following facilities were constructed and commissioned to gather, process and ship gas and condensate, including a unit for treatment of marketable gas with daily design capacity of 600 thousand cubic meters of natural gas and 90 thousand metric tons of condensate, a gas engine power plant, a seven kilometers long gas pipeline, connecting the field with a transportation system, gas gathering systems, a methanol pipeline, other production infrastructure facilities and an accommodation camp with a canteen.

The final decision on further field development plan will be based upon results of operation of the first wells.

INFORMATION

LUKOIL’s core gas producing asset in Russia, the fields of the Bolshekhetskaya depression deliver 24 500 thousand cubic meters of gas and 4.5 thousand metric tons of liquid hydrocarbons daily. While Nakhodkinskoye – the company’s largest gas field there – was brought into operation in 2005, the other - Pyakyakhinskoye field started to produce oil in 2016. Production of gas followed in the beginning of 2017.
Discovered in 1987, the Yuzhno-Messoyakhskoye gas condensate field is rated as a major field with initial recoverable reserves estimated at 112.5 billion cubic meters of gas and 10.3 million metric tons of condensate.
